3 10" kicker comp vr's

im getting 3 10" kicker comp vr's(dual 4ohm) and im hooking them up to a bx1500d or tx1505d (one of the Hifonics amps) and running it at 2ohms. Each are roughly getting about 300w rms. They are going to be in a custom sealed box made out to Kicker specs.

What gauge wire should i use to hook it all up?? (ground, speaker wire, power)

4 power ground and i would say 12 or 14 gauge speaker if thats the only amp that you are going to run. i would say 0/1 but if you arent going through a dist. block to step it down to 4 gauge then it will not fit into the power and ground on the amp

4ga should be fine with those amps..and that wont be 2ohms..it'll be 2.67ohms..almost 3ohms

FYI = you can't run three dual 4ohm subs at 2 ohms. the only wiring option you have is 2.67. So if you were set on the power that that amp produces at 2 ohms.. expect it to be a little less.

My friend is running .66 ohms on his Opti1400D with 3 Kicker CVR's, I just turned the gains way down

Impossible. CVR's don't come in a VC config that you could make it go to .66

4 dual 4 ohm woofers would give u 2ohms. also..i would consider a better amp..hifonics is junk if u ask me..mine broke i had to send it back, got it back it worked like shit..

Ok....I think you are getting slightly confused. What they are saying is that you can't wire 3 CVR's to exactly 2ohm.....it simply isn't possible to wire the "odd" number of subs to an "even" final impedence.

With 3 Kicker CVR's that are dual 4's, your wiring options are 2.67ohm (series-parallel):

.67 ohm (parallel-parallel):

So, you can't get exactly 2ohms even with them, but you can get relatively close with 2.67ohm (series-parallel wiring). It is entirely possible to run a 3 sub setup.....just not at an "even" impedence. You'll always end up with a figure that ends with some hundredth of an ohm.
