quick question. i use my receivere as a 2.1 setup. there is no DD or DTS turned on. will i have to use one of the 2 if i add a center channel? will vocals come through better on the center channel or will they sound the same as on my L and R speakers?

Yes, you'll have to turn on surround sound processing if you want to use a CC.

Most audio CD's won't care if there's a center channel or not, but you'll notice a difference if you have 5.1 audio on DVD-A discs. Some SACD's are mastered for 5.1 systems as well...

thx jack, but its just gonna be for movies and mp3's on my computer and occasionally when i listen to the radio. still any difference?

Will make a difference for movies, not for MP3's or broadcast radio.
