2x 15 or 1x 18 and why.

I am planning now on buying either 2x hdc 15's or 1 18, with a Memphis 1100d on it. Box size is not an issue, and I do not want to hear anything about buying another amp. Which ya'll think go deeper and sound better, screw max spl, it will be alot better than what I play now.

So we are kinda split? Maybe this will help:

Box will be sealed. Just because. And 2 sd2.5 15's are about same price as 1 hdc 18, but with a little more cone area.

Now I get even funnier, because, I can swap my hc-50 to my brother in law for another 1000d memphis. Hmmm, what about now?

hdc sealed. Pointless. If you are planning on going sealed, I would look at a sub more capable. spl subs in sealed boxes are just a waste of time. Not saying you cant get decent results, but ide look elsewhere if you plan on going sealed.

single amp 2 15" SDC's.....2 amps 2 15" HDC's.......and PORT them.

Why do you want to run them sealed if you have room to port them? HDC's can sound VERY good ported if the box and front stage is right.

Okay, I see most say 2x 15, but why not 2x 18?

I have plenty (kinda) of room. And I am not above using all of it for the subs, as I pull a trailer with my tools/gear on it.

Will I be able to have very nice SQ from 2 HDC 18's? Reason I am so adamant on the 18's is for show, no one around here has ran 18's since the late 90's and all the JL hype.....

look into the Mach 5 Audio MJM 18"s new or if you can find MJ18"s used. They do well sealed from what I've seen on here
