which way should i go.
i have 16 mids for the MINI. all 8 ohm.

8 per door.

they will be wired in pairs of 4, in parallel, making each set of 4 mids a 2 ohm load.

so its either 2 100.2s, with 8 mids per amp (basically 1 amp per door) running each channel at 2 ohms

or 1 100.4, running 4 mids per channel, at 2 ohms.

the 100.2 is rated 200 x 2 @ 2 ohms

the 100.4 is rated 160 x 2 @ 2 ohms

i know the 100.2 is supposedly a little more underrated than the 100.4 is, but i found a good deal (IMO) on 2 100.2s, bnib for 370 shipped.

what do you guys think?

$370 for 400 watts?? going into 16 mids, 25 watts each? come on step the power up!!! if you got 8 mids in each door then send them more power to all those cones to really kill your ears!!

go with another amp unless your set on the sundowns, for $370 you could send like 60w to each mid!

each amp is rated 200 x 2 @ 2 ohm....thats for 8 mids..thats 50W per mid...amp will do more than 200w tho...

wups sorry i skim reading posts, i went by the model numbers, 100.2's so two of them, therefore 400rms

so theoretically these amps could be called 200.2's then!!!!!!!!! omgggg

no...

they are rated 100 x 2 @ 4 ohm, hence the name "100.2"

they do the 200x2, but at 2 ohms..they usually name the amps going by what the 4 ohm rating put out.
