2Channel input on a 4Channels amp

I have a VGA500.4, currently just 2 channels utilized to push a 12inch SVC sub at 500watts...I'm about to get a new 12inch DVC sub which power handling can be up to 1000watts, so i'm thinking of fully utilize the 4 channels of the VGA amp, i saw that there's one option switch at the amp named as "input mode", you can either select 2 channel or 4 channel if not mistaken, what does this switch do? can i just use a single pair of RCA to fully utilized the 4 channels amp to push the DVC subwoofer?

I knew there's amplifier out there that can do this by re-routing the signals to the other channels by just 1 pair of RCA...can VGA amp do this as well, i'm asking about this because it does not covered in the manual...my friend did advise me to get rid of this 4 channel VGA and get a 2 channel to whack the DVC sub, but i'm thinking of keeping it since it always more flexible to have a 4 channel than a 2 channel, perhaps if the new sub aint that power hungry, i just use 2 channel out of it and the remaining two channel i can play with it, either for rear fill or 3 ways setup... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

You can run it in 2 channel mode and use the outputs for the sub, bridge the front channels for one VC and the rear channels for the other VC. That would be putting stereo to the 2 voice coils. i dont do that i run either a 2 channel amp in mono and run the VCs in parallell or series. here is a soundstream amp If you want to stay with soundstream, by the way need to know the VC ohms because bridging most amps they will only go to 4 ohms. so if you have 2 ohm voice coils youll need either a mono amp or a 2 channell amp

the voice coil imp is at 4ohm, i have no problem at that, but i wish to know set the switch to 2 channel input means what? and the most important thing is, can this be achive thorough a single pair of RCA (i means powering the DVC sub in stereo)

Switching to 2 channel mode should mean that it only takes 2 channels and divides it up for all 4 channels. it would only take 1 set of RCAs. It should work fine.

sorry for bothering again, to understand ur opinion in a clearer way (i'm noob i knew)...u means switching it to 2channel, i just connect a single pair of RCA, then the 3/4 channel will get the frequency i set from the channel 1/2 ? means by just connect RCA at channel1/2, then switch it to "2channel input mode", the channel3/4 can be use...is it some kind of routing the frequency at channel1/2 to channel3/4 as well?

by the way the manual for that amp isnt very clear at all. i just looked at it on the soundstrem website. but that is what i did for my old eclipse 4 channel amp switched it to 2 channel 1 set of RCAs to the 1 and 2 input and speakers to the mono outputs of the amp.
