R.I.P. Gossamer!!
It must be a state thing because Louisiana has never posted fine amounts on the back of tickets. When you're told to sign the ticket(s) as they're being issued you're given this speech about "Your signature does not constitute admission of guilt only verification that you have been issued this summons and advised of the set court date," or something to that effect.Isn't the fine usually on the ticket itself? Maybe it's a state thing.
You're given a choice of either simply paying the fine before the court date, going to court to fight it, or going to court to request an extension of the 'Pay By' date.
In Louisiana it's weird ~ depending on how much authority the cop that issues you the ticket has can make a difference in how much it costs. Ergo: A deputy sheriff's ticket would cost more than a city cop and a state trooper's ticket would run more than the deputy sheriff's (even for the exact same offense)
*knock on wood* I've been very fortunate - haven't had any sort of moving violation in years. Been stopped a time or three for my too-dark window tint but I've been lucky and got let go with a warning each time.
