2512 amp

Looking for some opions on a quality amp to run a DD2512 at 1ohm in a 2.4cuft tuned to 35hz.

Im looking to put 1000-1200w to it after imp rise so im geussing id need an amp that does a legit 1500w at 1ohm? not too sure on box rise-was told by a guy from dd that after box rise a sub wired to 1 ohm will really show close to 2ohms.

I think that a DD cm1000 wouldnt have enough power, but the m1c may be alittle too much. Also thinking about the Sundown 1200.

I will be running it with apretty good stock elecrical other than the big 3. My lights dont dim at all at about 950w

My budget would be around $450 but less would be better

Get the same amp from onlinecarstereo.com instead and use the coupon code "SST1511" and save 15% (amp is like $195 shipped i think). DD m1 would be perfect for that 2512, and in the case that it is a tiny bit much you can always back down on the gain

The SS isn't as underrated as DD or sundown (SS is rated @ 14.4v, the DD/SA is rated at high 11's i think). It's also less efficient, but besides that the rubicons are tanks. They can run down to .25 ohms and are pretty hard to shut off when it comes to low voltage. If you have the cash, get a DD/SA. If not, get the rubicon. They are all good amps but the DD/SA are simply a higher caliber. There is an SAE-1200 in the classifieds right now for $215

I have a DD 2512 in a 2.25cu.ft box tuned to 34Hz and I run it on an Sundown SAZ-1500D.....takes it like a champ too!

What do guys think of box rise- say a real 1000w was produced by an amp how many watts would get to the sub?

Impossible to tell. Honestly, box rise is completely irrelevant to you if you are just using the sub in a daily driver. Box rise is only important if you are competing and need to squeeze every bit of power out of your amp as possible

Oh, thought it was noticable.

Was talking to a guy from DD about the cm1000, he said that it will put out at least 1000w but due to box rise the amp will be working at close to 2ohms=600-700w.

Box rise is more than just your power output dropping, it also encompasses efficiency. As impedance rises and power output decreases, efficiency rises (or so I have understood it).

How do you guys think a Cadence ZRS 7000D amp stacks up to DD or Sundown? Found one on sale for $250, it does 1300w at 13.8v. is that a better quality amp than the rubicons?
