24db slope @ hu or amp?

i just rrealised today that my hu (880prs) and my amp (orion 2500d) both have 24 db slope on the sub? do i leave the amp xover on 'full' or 'lowpass' im wondering if useing both the hu xover and the amp xover both @ 24db slope or 24 db on the amp and 12 on the hu makes things weird or correct?? any one know for sure whats the right way to do it?
