24 Volt Capacitor selection and wiring

Two questions:

A) Why would anyone use a 24 volt cap? My battery only produces 12V and amps are rated at 14.4V. Would using a 24V cap destroy my amps?

B)How does one wire a cap? I need 0/1 ga wire that I will reduce to two 4 ga wires. Can I put the cap before the distribution block? WHat if I purchase a distribution/cap "all-in-one" style?

For "power stiffening" purposes, caps are wired in parallel to the load/source.

what are you using a cap for, if it is for any Power stiffening purpose as in voltage drops, you dont need one, just do a search on the forum for the "Big 3" and do that.

The voltage of the cap is just the max it can handle. in a 14.4v application, it doesn't matter if the cap is rated for 16v or 400v, all you'll be using is 14.4v.

You most likely dont need a cap, do a search for "caps" and "useless"

The amp should have enough capacitance to stabalize it's input voltage

I saw the article on the Big 3. Don't see how it well help but it is worth a try. Lot cheaper than a cap.

dude youve been here for 3 years, you should know the big 3 is better and what exactly it does. A cap does stabalize the voltage but it doesnt do much else.
