What a relief. I was scurred there for a minute.

that autometer is very inaccurate bro
they have to bench test it to present a load on it to get an accurate reading

( used to manage Checkers/oreilly )
so nothing short of pulling the alt and havin her strapped down? Its very tough getting it out, and it's my only transportation, so pulling it then running around is next to impossible, and if I broke somethin in the process, I got no wheelz till i can get it fixed. Just assume it's OK?

I never expected to use as much of my available power as I am otherwise Id have gotten dual alts to begin with. This Iraggi failed once, they went out of business, so i had to have it fixed locally. I got lucky the local shop had a tension spring available that fit. Since it's been repaired, its made a little noise hence my worry and testing. The spring that pushes the brush against the... comutator? Thats what went out, the top plastic assembly/housing for it was replaced. Snapped old off, snapped new in.

Dom is oob... prolly a good thing too lol

Sorry Kman it will prolly do as a stock alt for awhile but I bet it is fubar... for about 125-175 you can have it rebuilt at some shop around you ( we have several places here that do it )

my only local shop could barely repair it when it went bad, they wont re-wind...they cant do HO, only multiple set ups and cant even help with mounting or brackets //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

damnitman!

I had a choice of more power at idle, inbetween, or more peak. The smallest alt is rated 160A-200A at idle 220A peak, the biggest alt is rated 160A-180A at idle 300A peak. I chose 200A idle 220A peak.

I was idling. I should have gotten a minimum of 160A and up to 200A at idle.

Ive had Dominic Irragi on my Facebook since I started my research, he deleted it and started a new one. I added him, bet he doesnt accept! I sent yet another email last nite, we will see

bad alt? good alt?‏

I just went to have my 160@idle 220 peak tested, it was load tested as 74A. It is rated 160-200A @ idle, 220A peak. Test no good? I want to make sure the Iraggi works as it should before adding a 2nd alt.

Thanks!
