Hey everyone,
Hope everyone had a great 4th of July. Sorry in advance for all of the questions, I just want to make sure I do it right the first time.
I have a 2012 Corvette Grand Sport coupe with Nav and the Bose and would like to upgrade the sound. I really have no idea what I want to do. I don't want the loudest setup in the world, I would just like to get the best sound quality, but I would like to keep the price as low as possible. I want quality stuff, but if there is a small difference between 2 things I would probably go with the cheaper option since I doubt I could notice a small difference.
First of all, I was planning on doing something like the Corvette Package from Second Skin for insulation for heat and noise.
Second, I looked at just replacing the front 3.5" speakers and rear 5.25" speakers with Kicker DS35 and Kicker DS525.
Lastly, I thought about replacing the factory Nav head unit, adding a good amp, going with good components and possibly even a 10" sub in the back.
Would the simple Kicker setup sound good? I know it wont be louder, but will sound better, especially if I insulate the car.
If I did replace the head unit, I would want to retain steering wheel controls, bluetooth, Nav and iPod control on the head unit.
Thanks again and cant wait to hear some suggestions from more experienced people.
