Got a quick ? about the 2006 Alpine Head Units.

I went to bestbuy today to check out Alpine HU and notice some huge Differences..

Alpine Eliminated the Motorize Face to a Fold down face--how dumb can that be

Lower the Preouts

and the size of the screen is smaller

alpine before use to be one of the best Swing Motorzie face then any other brand of Hu i know of

Will elimated these features attract more buyers or what is going on with Alpines

Yep, they are getting crappier

They are just making things cheaper to sell more units at a lower price

Actually, I wish every company would get rid of motorized faces. I can't stand them. It's an additional cost, and eventually, the mechanism always fails. I'd just as soon have a classy looking, slot-load than a whiz-bang motorized face that dies 3 years down the road.

Lower the Preouts

the didnt lower the preouts, they are finally the actuall preout voltage, before companies were just stamping on false numbers of what the preouts were. they're finnally being regulated.

At least Alpine makes head units with no engine whine problems.

the 06 alpine circuit boards are different. but they are now too simple and have less features then the old school ones did.

in my store alpine radios are out selling pioneer.

the direct ipod conection has a lot to do with it..

All my pioneers have 0 engine noise, except when you switch them to AM radio which i never ever listen to.

no idiot proofing them would have some sign that tells em where the cd slot is.

i see way to many cd's sitting on top of peoples radios. and them crying that their radio ate their cd.

i dont even know how they even manage that.

I have a 2 month old Alpine 9861 and I've honestly had better Fm radio reception from a 20$Kraco an that's not the start of it.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif The volumne control knob pot is detented and will audibly make a very slight sound in the music when turning up or down when it hits the detents while music is playing and the loading time for a CD is like 5 seconds //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Oh, and I called Alpine and they offered to replace my 2 month old 650$ deck with a Refurb:crap:
