i once heard a comedian say on BET,"why the fvck would i vote for a president, that i could beat in a spelling bee?"
i giggled, i really hope it doesnt come true because im turning 18 pretty soon.

And the labels "republican" and "democrat" really have no concrete meaning - after all, Lincoln was a Republican arguing against pro-slavery Democrats...times change. Most of the South up until the civil rights movement was Democratic.

Yeah, the two sides basically switched names in the 20th century. So basically, the Republicans back then probably share more similarities with Democrats of present time...with some exception (i.e. Roosevelt).
