I'm confused about the 8455's Pro mode 4 speaker crossover setting. Does this "4 speaker" setting actully mean a 3 way component set along with a subwoofer? If so, can I set the crossover frequencies for each woofer (tweeter, midrange, midbass and sub) independently, at any frequency and at any slope ranging from 0 ,6,12,18,24dB? The 8455 has a 7 band parametric EQ, correct? If so, could someone post specs on the eq? Like max/min attentuation/boost, corner frequency, bandwidth? Hows the time correction? Does the headunit offer phase control?
If I'm going to pay 600 dollars for a Head unit, it better damm well do everything I need it to do, short of amplification. Basically, I need a good processor to set up a 3 way system. An outboard crossover/eq (like the altomobile Drive 30) would give me EVERYTHING I need as far as processing goes. I'd buy it if I could find a cheep headunit with all the features I need.
Edit: also, is there a gain setting for each woofer (tweet, mid, midbass, sub)? So that, if need be, I can match sensativities. (especially since I don't think most amps have gain adjustment for each channel, I'd need 7 channels of amplification).
