2005 Alpine SWR12 Pure SPL box idea

Has anyone heard these, and could they handle 1000-1200watts daily? I have an idea for (1) 12 with some big power on it @ 60Hz SPL and sealed daily. Could I just design a 60Hz ported box and make a plug for it for daily, I want to use a round port also, and how would I easily seal it up for daily.

60 hz SPL sealed? round port? use a slot port for SPL....

i meant a ported box that could be plugged for daily use too

there are better subs for spl, and 1000rms seems like it pushing to me for daily driving, i would look int o a different sub for what u want

I don't know how long that Type-R would last with 1,000w+ seeing as how they're only rated at 500w RMS..

That is possibly the worst sub for an spl setup. First off look at the efficiency of that sub. Its one of the most inefficent subs out. Get a mojo or something.

Not to mention it's not geared towards SPL in the first place..

Ive seen 10" 1000wrms sub powered by 250 wrms and hit 140-41db's

1st Post guys!

I just ordered that sub a week ago, and it should be at my house in a few days. It can handle 500 watts rms, 1500 Peak. I've heard this sub before, and it hit hard to me, and didnt sound that bad. Get the sub, try it out. If ya don't like it save ur money and get a diff one. Thats my 2 cents.

I know the sub will handle 750WRMS daily, but 1000WRMS may be pushing it too much. If you want to go with Alpine and use that much power go with the Type X, if not look into getting a SPL sub.
