I just got a 2004 Nissan pathfinder. It has the factory Bose system and its crap. I would like opinions on some head unit and speaker options. I want to doa name brand like alpine or Kenwood but want to stay on the lower end if possible. I will need 4- 6 1/2s, head unit, and would like 1 sub. 12".I have an older alpine flex 5 amp. I'm finding a lot of stuff but don't know what would sound best. I listen to it all from Loretta Lynn to slayer. I want it loud and clear at lower volumes. Would like to stay around $300 for all of it and I know I will need special kits and adpters. Thanks

It is virtually impossible to buy name brand in that price range for all the equipment you need for the sound you want..Keep in mind, you could buy a better system in the long run if you bought in increments.

Metra 99-7403 (met-997403) Single DIN Installation Kit w/ Pocket

MB Quart ONX4.80 ONYX 4-Channel Car Amplifier/Amp - run the fronts to the comps, bridge the rears to the sub.

400W Boston Acoustics 12" G112PS GTuned Series Loaded Enclosure - cheap Boston in a good enclosure with good port area tuned @ 34hz -prolly get your money back off C/L someday if you choose to sell and upgrade

Autotek ATX6.2C (ATX62C) 6-1/2" 2-Way ATX Component Speaker System - cheap comps, but you will be able to mount tweets anywhere and with some deadening to the doors and a decent install, they should sound decent. Run the rear stocks to the rear speaker outs on the HU, if you wanted to run them.

Just worry about upgrading the front 6.5's, leave the stocks as they are and run them off the headunit, it will sound fine...nice to see another person with a pathfinder, but you have the newer gen //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
