Hi guys,
I have a 2003 Mazda 6 with the Bose "upgrade" ... I love the car, it's an absolute blast to drive. But the audio is horrible.
My previous car was an '89 Accord that I put a lot of money into upgrading. I went the complete retail route and got bent over a table pretty badly, but the sound was *incredible* (at least, to me). I had polk seperates in front and polks in the back, an alpine amp to drive them, a sony hu, and a 10" Boston driven by another alpine amp. My budget is pretty small, but I'm willing to eat ramen for as long as necessary to get my tunes back to par.
I listen to a lot of techno. I like my sound crisp and clean and would rather have clarity than volume any day. I loved those polks! I don't need competition level volume, but you know, more than stock is good.
I started getting some advice from someone online that has gone through upgrading his own 6's system, but I was hoping to get a little more advice from the pros in here.
I have already purchased, for my front speakers, "CDT Audio CL-61A" for around $135. From the reviews I've read online, these are great speakers for the price.
I also have my old 10" Sub and an Alpine 2 channel amp from my Accord that I ripped out at the last second. I hope to reuse those.
I now need suggestions for rear speakers. My bud online is saying I should get these:
Rear Fill:
CL-5x 5.25" Coxials - $49.99 sale http://www.thezeb.com 60w RMS
And for a 4 channel amp (needs to have a sub passthrough because of the way my system is setup) this is what he recommends:
DB440 - Tsunami 4 Ch 440 Watt Amplifier ($150)
I haven't found too much info on this... can someone tell me if I should be spending more on my main amp or will this give me the clarity I'm looking for? I am willing to spend twice that for an amp if the gains are justified.
Thank you for any help. Oh, and I'm a complete and total noob to car audio, so .. be gentle. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
