i have a 2003 ford taurus can i hook up a amp and not get a deck(money issues). or do i need a convertor. or cant i do it. im putting a 500watt amp with 10' subs in it. i need to know if the amp can be run on the original plate on the car

Yes you can run it without an aftermarket HU..

You need a line converter.. That's it.

You can use a line-out converter. It's actually really easy to hook up in that vehicle, since the factory amp is in the trunk. You can tap your speakers and find an accessory power wire for remote turn-on there.
