2001 buick lesabre deck install Q's

I read on crutchfield that the 2001 Buick lesabres do not have an available wire harness to install an aftermarket deck and that a person needs to splice into the factory wires and run all new speaker wires in order for a new deck to work.

Im possibly buying one and I would like to know if I can swap my deck from the old car over without rewiring the whole system.

Again its a 2001 Buick Lesabre WITHOUT onstar or factory tweeters in the doors.

i believe that you would use the same harness that is used by some other newer style GM cars. Tyr looking through scosche, american international or metra. They sell a lot of harnesses. The harness you may need is the GM one that has the door buzzer module built in. If that is the one that you'll need, its probably aroudn teh 100-150 range for the harness. I'm sure there is a harness for your car if you buy it, it just might not be as cheap as the standard harnesses for approx $20. Good luck with it.

prob a metra gm0s01 harness, where does your door chime come from the speaker?

No, your deck has a cartridge style connector, kind of like the old nintendo games, the deck just slides into a dock, the proper way is; release the factory cartridge from its mount and the antenna, then get a Metra GMRC-04 (I believe is the part number with no Onstar and no Amp) This will plug right into the cartridge and it will retain all class 2 data functions including door chime, otherwise you can cut off the connector and hardwire your harness to the car...Really arent that hard to do, let me know if you need more help...
