2000w RMS? I have a 220 amp alt but it idles at 175+ @ idle and I push 2500wRMS just fine... You might be lacking a bit though... Just rev that engine. One way to find out...

So... that means 1300rms @ 2 ohm + 460rms @ 4 ohm would be alright on a 115 (at idle) alternator?

I have an optima yellow top in there now and am just ordering up all my wires and fuses.

I am a little confused though. I know I need to fuse between the alternator and the battery, and I need to fuse the main power line going back to power all the amps. What size fuses should I be getting for these though? My alternator is 160 amp (115 at idle), and my amp loads are 3 x 50amp and 1 x 30amp. I am planning to use all Stinger 1/0 HPM wire for the big three and as my main going to the back. It will then be distrobuted into 4 x 4awg to power the amps (I found a singer midi-fuse distro block that will allows for this). When running my grounds would I be better to use 1/0 HPM ground wires and gauge adapters, or simply run 4 awg grounds? (My amps can only take 4awg wires.)

i have 4000-5000 watt system on a 110 stock alt, it does fine but it cuts off at volume 24, just remember dont turn the car off right away. let the battery recharge, its what i do.

Mikerosoft, your question about the fuse sizes, you should be fine as long as you don't get a fuse that is bigger than the ones on the amp if you have them

So since they all add up to 180amp, then I would be fine with a 200amp fuse? Any advantage or disadvantage to using a 250 amp fuse? And should I be using the same size fuse between the battery and distro block, as I use between the alternator and battery? Thanks.
