hey wats up everyone, I need some advise here. I live on a small island and most people here is into jl audio and db drive but im trying to break the barrier and get something different.

Im used to hearing w6's and most people use the jl 1000/1. Now i've got 2000 or a lil more to spend on amp and subs. i dont know if its possible but im trying to get something that wound put me in the 150-155db range. I have a 05 grand cherokee so space is not an issue.

help a brother out please;)

Same as the other guy ^^^.. 18's will get the job done if you dont care about space.. build a nice wall or subs up port back box.... i actually have a couple 18" RE MT's that i would consider selling.. but shipping to a "little island" may be expensive.

Yeah get some Fi BTLs and two sundown 3000Ds, then use the rest for electrical. Then get ready to blow everyone else away.
yepp.. those are good subs too... get a couple BTL 18's. (get the extra options too)...and i personaly like autotek amps.. you can pick up a mean machine 4000 online for $700 new on onlinecarstereo.com

ok am gonna lean towards 2 18" fi btl's. am gonna hit up the classifieds and see what i can find. btw how much should i excpect to spend on those 2 subs?

and amp? sundown or memphis? 1 or 2?

another thing i noticed were some people are selling the older version of the btl's does it make a difference wether its the old or new version? what should i look for when buying them?

btls new are around 500 used prolly 350-400 depending on what model

as for amps id go with the sundown or look into a crunch gp3000 pro

i will volunteer my help if you promise to stop sacraficing the 4th letter of that. if you use that, i will help.

assuming you'll do so. 2 HD3C18s is around i believe 700 shipped. copper coils are fine, aluminum coils handle more power, but copper dissipates heat faster. you then can either A, get two AQ2200s, or B. 2AQ3500s, based on what you want to do for electrical. for the 2200s id say 3-4 batts to be safe and of course an HO alt. now the 3500s, you may need 5-6 batts to be steady and youre looking and having a deeper budget.

If you dont mind getting dual 2' run them parallel parallel to get .5 ohm load, get one big 4k or 5k amp, atomic 5ks can be found between 600-800 on here and run that at .5 ohms. but be careful with your electrical.

I guess the question here is do you want to run 2 smaller amps or one big amp? even one will take around the same elctrical, so its up to you and your budget.

Audioques site is http://www.audioque.com

Another site to check out is http://www.sundownaudio.com

Sundown has great products as well. and talk to sundownz here on these forums or email him to see if better pricing may be an option. cheapest route you can get may be the AQ 18s and amps though, for your budget.
