2000 Jetta with monsoon system

I just picked up a 2000 Jetta yesterday. I would like to keep the factory speakers and amp but change out the OEM head unit. I want to put an alpine cda-7998 in it. Would I just be able to drop that in with a wiring harness or would I need some other type of bypass or something else? Thanks.

a standard harness/kit is what you need. also you would need to run a separate 12v switched wire to the radiio. because the kit will not provide one.
