2000 Grand Marquis Build

i got a question for everyone....before we start the design ....what do ya'll thank should i face the subs towards the bumper or upwards?? please help me out on this..
Every setup ive done in my CV has been subs and port towards the rear. Ive tried fliping the boxes so the subs and port fire up, and notice a gain in output, but seems to lose some of the boost I was getting from the low end.

Honestly, considering what you are trying to do, I think sub and port back would be best. Sub up and port back would also be a good idea, but ive never tried that combo in my car.

possible box design

box is going to slide down in the hole of the truck perfect so we cant fire the ports back ... trying to keep the box as low as possible

well....i got to thanking...i am gunna be running around 5000watts at .5ohm and the dc lv4 xl's can only really hold about 2k max daily...i was trying to decide if i should stay with dc lv4xl or go with fully loaded btl's?

As long as your electrical system is pretty strong and its clean power, you should be fine. I saw a guy run a pair of XL 15s off a Sundown 3500 on each, and they handled it fine. Ive seen installs with 3000d going to a single sub.

I think either way will be fine, I know the BTLs will be happy, my friend had a similar setup in his Crown Vic.

Whats the specs and outside measurements of that box? And it looks good, Mobeious has the right idea, firing sub and port up and keeping the height low. Very nice.

i have no idea what the measurements are of the box...i told mobeious to do what he thanks... i trust him //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif he has built hundreds of boxes for people...but yeah i am staying with the dc audio lv4 xl's

Wouldn't it be louder to have the port firing to the rear? I know when I shifted my box around it wasn't nearly as loud with the port and subs facing up. Then again, I wasn't using nearly that powerful of amps or subs. :p

FINALLY i am ordering my 2 15 lv4 xl's,270amp mechman alt,Audiocontrol MATRIX 6-Channel liner driver, and new in-dash tv tommorrow....i cant wait untill everything arrives....:) oh yeah and box should be built this weekend unless it rains.....
