$200 price range HU

Short or running a mini PC in my truck, i am looking for a HU that will read MP3s off a external hard drive (2.5" laptop size) via USB. I was looking at the Alpine IDA-X100, but i don't really care about ipod stuff (mostly itunes).

I know i would probably have to format the drive fat32 and all that, and have read that if you have 5+ gigs of music with some units, it will take over a minute for it to be ready to play.

Anyone run a setup like this, and are there any suggestions that are within this price range?
