scoop an atlas 12~15 - http://www.ascendantaudio.com (dunno if they still have them). build your box.

x3 this will be a great very low budget setup if youre looking for soemthin to shake youre car a little..

but if youre into rock/country/classical/easy rock then you might want to sacrifice a little SPL and go with the atlas for its great sound quality.

but i would still vote comp VR and profile

if you want a profile amp, go to http://www.profileusa.com and go the the outlet store. They have discontinued subs and amps cheap. I bought a little baja amp with 4 baja 10" subs. My brother made me the boxes according to the specs, and man, did those things pound. people laughed at me when they saw the brand and the amp, but they stopped laughing when I turned the system up!

Hey I have a Kicker 550.3 I will sell you for 120 Shipped still have box and birthsheet. It will put out 400rms to the subs @ 2ohms. I also have 2 PG Xmax10s. I want 100 plus shipping great subs.

Got a new car time for a new system.

If you want the amp and the subs I could go 230 its going to a cost me at least 45-50 bucks to ship 2 subs that way 10 pounds each and the amp has to be about the same I would think.
