So, the blue/white wire on the harness is what goes to the amp, meaning it would be the blue/white harness from the HU that should be hot? (when the red wire is plugged in)

hu needs to be plugged in....and test the wire coming from the hu

Ok I did that test again. The wire is hot, seems like a low voltage though.

i had the same problem and if you did the same mistake then u failed to connect one remaing wire from the harness to the radio. in my case the color of the wire was blue. dont remember which one, either remote or antenna

There is a blue wire listed as Power Ant. I just have no idea what to plug it in to.

Yes thats the one and im 90% sure thats the problem.

the only time that wire is hot is when the source is am/fm and is used to raise and lower a power antenna

Waht does it plug in to though? The only wires I have left are the dimmer wire(orange/white) and navigation wires (brown, green, blue/pink, green/purple)

well one of those i guess. in my case there was white and blue and that was the one to connect it to.

you should not need it and it should be taped off such that it does not ground.

yeah thats what i thought, so in my case i did not connect it on purpose and got no sound after connecting it everything was fine.

You have 2 options on a GMOS04

You can hook up to blue/white after the digital box on the car harness

or you can hook up to blue/white as it goes into the digital box.

If the car has a digital remote turn on, then you must go thru the digital box in order for it to turn your factory amp on. Try it both ways. And BTW, if you don't have an amp, then a GMOS04 is feeding low level to your speakers, which you won't hear unless the radio is turned all the way up and it will be distorted. In that case, the proper part would be a GMOS01.

If this doesn't make sense, just let me know and I'll try to make it more clear.

if your car has monsoon there is a blue/white wire on the 14pin harness for the GMOS, you need to hook that up to the remote wire on the Head unit.

if his car has monsoon hes gonna have to purchase an adapter in order to bypass the factory amp.. i would know.. i had to do it

in my car i have the blue/white from the deck, the blue/white from the harness, and the sub amp remote wire all spliced together.. all 3 in a butt connector

I'm not sure what the digital box is you're talking about.

By the way, I do have the extra AMP. Is there a way to test anything using that and my subs?
