Well, I believe I am going to bite on the RE group buy. I don't know if adire will throw a competing one so I am going to wait until december to buy.

Is it better to run two subs off two amps or just one. Meaning, I can buy another US Merlin D2 (1500w @ 1 ohm monoblockfor the other 18 (1 merlin per 18) or I can drop 800-1000 on an autotek 3000.1 pr 4000.1 which do about 12-1500 per channel at one ohm. The autotek is a 2 channel sub. I would assume the autotek would be better because I would get more control, but buying another merlin is cheaper. Any ideas?

one amp would make life easier, but one amp per sub can be done safely. you need to make sure that if you run one amp per sub that your box has a divider in it. it is a must!!! the divider also keeps the box rigid.
