2 Subs sharing same air chamber but one hitting harder then the other....???

When I play my subs, the left sub seems to move more then the right sub in the same box. Both subs are the exact same model power HX2 and both were brand new. They both hit hard, but it seems that the sub closest to the port on the right hits the high frequencies and in between and the left one hits all of the low car shaking notes and some in between. Is it something I did wrong when wiring it or is that how it is supposed to happen? I wired them parallel at 2 ohms from a mono 1501bd. Is that normal in a ported box with both subs sharing the same air chamber with no baffle in between?

im definitely not close to the smartest ones here, but i once read something from a Kicker manual that said they suggest doin 1 chamber per sub because even tho they're the same model they're not EXACTLY alike, sometimes 1 sub things its in a bigger enclosure than it really is and the other feels its in a smaller one...i can only suggest that u use 2 chambers in the 1 box...but listen to some others first cause im still new to this

I don't think you'd want separate chambers for the subs if you only have one port..that would kind of defeat the purpose of the port. Sounds kinda odd since you're running both off of a mono amp.

Did you folks in Medford get the snow and ice like we did here in Portland?

Yeah, we got hella snow about a week and a half ago... now its nice and sunny =)

The sub furthest away from the port seems to be hitting the hardest. Maybe it is just the location of the sub? I am going to look into it more and do some more research on the boards and such.

If anyone has an answer for me, that would be awesome. Thanks

Enclosed it soboth has there own space it should sound alot better than it does now. And if you only have one port hole make a new one on the other side for the other sub.

post between them, as opposed to on one end. that would keep the distance from the woofer to the port the same. (not sure if this will fix your problem, but that's how i built an enclosure for a friend whom for some reason wanted shared airspace with his two HE2's, and they both hit relatively the same)
