2 Shivas or 1 eDA

Im just a little worried about the delay that will result from a ported box.

The SQ seems to be about even between the two, but Shivas DO have a larger cone area so the only difference would be ported vs. sealed.

what about 3 15a's ported to specs vs 6 12o's sealed in about 1.5. The 15a's will each have their own nine.1 pushing them and each pair of 12o's would have a nine.1for sq and spl which do you think would be better.

**** 3600watts? Hope your upgrading your alt.

I'd rather have 3 Top of the line subs than 6 middle of the line subs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Do NOT port the O's. O's are not recommended to port. only use these in sealed or Infinite Baffle designs.

Would I need to upgrade my alt if I get a 850 watt amp in addition to me 180 watts already being drawn? I have an 80 amp alt.

nobody said anything about porting the o's and i already know they shouldnt be ported. And yes you should upgrade your alternator and should also look into upgrading your battery if you havent already done so.

you'll never know until you try!

if you have problems, then upgrade, if not, why worry?

The O's CAN be ported, just not in the applications they are designed for, that being SQ...

the O, when ported yields a big nasty spike, giving a ton of output over a very narrow range... basically, will get quite loud, but will not sound good... for our applications tho, seal them or run infinite baffle

the A has vastly more linear displacement...
A: 72.07in^2 * (1.02in*2)

A: 147.02 in^3

Two shivas: [74.55in^2 * (.622in * 2)]2

Two shivas: 185.48in^3

Advantage: shivas by 38.46in^3

Cost?

Two shivas: 250 shipped

One A: 295 plus shipping

Advantage: shivas

Sound Quality?

Objective.
