2 shivas or 1 brahma

I have 2 shivas in a ported box running off an mtx 801d. I noticed that the bass wasn't as loud as usual so when i checked it out one of the subs had a blown voice coil. Would it be better to get a new one or just go with 1 12" brahma? Which would be louder? Which would have better sq?

how big is the box and how much power was each shiva getting?

4.7 cubic ft each shiva getting about 400rms (amp does 800 at 2 ohms but is underrated)

shivas are dual 8.....end up with a 2 ohm load both wired in parallel

that amp is highly underrated i do believe. id imagine they got around 500 each but the rms is 650 which is thermal but a fblown coil=thermal. they must have slammed though in that setup man. if that amp runs at 1 ohm ir get a brahma otherwise id get a shiva and lower the gains. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

My mtx 801D puts out 594 watts @ 2 ohms. They are rated lower but the certificate states otherwise.
