2 RE SE 12" or 1 RE SX 15"???

from what I have heard the SE's kill the L5's in both SQ and SPL

yeah, especially a ported 15" sx compaired to a sealed 12" L5, the 12" sx would be louder in the same situation aswell(given the right amount of power/box of course)

K... Would it be possible to fit a SX 18" in a trunk space 13"H, 36" wide and 40 deep? Thats what I really want to do but I dont see how I could fit it. And I think I probably am gonna go with VOA's amp.

Should be. Look on the RE site to see what airspace a SX 18" needs, then do some math, see if it can fit. L X W X H/1728 to get your cubic ft. Dont forget to account for thickness of wood, too.

7.5 cu ft for the 18. just face it up and you should be fine

Yeah the only problem is I don't want to face it up. I figured if I put it at a 45 degree angle it would fit, but I don't know the diameter of the bottom of it, so I'm not sure if it would fit like that... I have to have the wow factor of an 18 in my trunk so people need to be able to see it ya know?

Heh... np man, airspace isn't the prob, it's just finding an angle to put it at withought it facing up so that the bottom will fit.

Why dont u just get a 15" SX. Run it in a 4 cu/ft box. port it to 35. But personally Id go with a XXX 15" or 12" run it with the 1200. Ive heard of ppl runnin them with 1200 watts n sounding really good.

SX 15"s shipped to you are around $290 n XXXs 12" 405 shipped 15"s 435 shipped. Thats what the prices use to be. Probably the same.

If you wanna show it off Why not go with a 12" That sounds like 2 of 12"s N show that off. Just make sure u go ported. Its alot louder than sealed n SXs move a shit load of air.

Maybe I will just go with a 12" XXX, that way I can just face it to the back, box design will be much easier, and I can shove it way into the back of my trunk (towards the front of the car) and have some space left. Do MT's sound shitty and just get hella loud? I want it to be able to get insanely loud but sound good for normal listening, and I know a 12" MT would be the loudest I could get... Or are MT's not practical for daily use?

this is my same exact problem... i can't decide which setup i want either. now i'm thinking i want 1 12 xxx or 1 15 xxx. that means i have to get a new amp though. i was thinking about getting an orion or hifonics amp. i current have an xtant 1001dx, but that won't be enough... will it? anyhow, are hifonics amps any good. i know a lot of people are using them, but i don't know much about them. sorry about hijacking your thread!!

I would take the 1 15 over 1 12, or 2 12's over the 1 15 personaly. And I would look into the orion amps instead of the hi fonics. I dont know what that xtant is caipable of doing, but 1 orion 1200d should work nice on the 1 12 or a 2500 on the 1 15 or 2 12's
