2 re audio sxx 15's or 4 re audio sxx 12's?

okay so i have a honda cr-v and i have 7cuft to work with which would sound louder and sound better 2 15 re audio sxx or 4 12 re audio sxx?

I do believe four 12s is more cone area off the top of my head, but not by much. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. That said the 12s would be marginally louder I think.

ya its about 20% more cone area...im in the same situation with 2 18s vs 4 12s.... the 12s will be louder for sure but it depends on how low u wanna go

But I thought the lowness depends on port size?

true but imo cone area does make a difference.... but as i said before im in the same place as you bec idk if 4 12s will play with a strong low end.... i know 12s can play low but can they play like 15s on the lows?... i need someone else to chime in and help us both haah

the 4 12s allows for more cooling surface area as well. And yes, cone area is about 20% more

Yes I agree. That's what's I'm looking for I want my subs to hit the lows I have 2 15's right now and I'm just not happy with the lows but I'm thinking it's the box because I had a shop make it for me and I don't think they knew what the hell they were doing so that could be why the subs don't play the lows but I'm not sure.

ya most shops dont really deal with higher end installs...the ones who do really make some incredible things happen tho.... but 7 cubes isnt enough for 2 15s or 4 12s really... i mean i have mine is 7.7 approx and it does 145 but it could be better... but i will upgrade to 4 12s soon

Which subs do you have? Sounds like you need to build a new box...you can make nearly anything play well down low with the right box.
