2 quick BIG 3 questions

I have found a couple websites that have an explanation of how to do the big three. Some say to leave your factory wire, some say remove it. I'm sure you can make it work either way, but to anyone on here whose done it's experience, what do you recommend?

Also, some say to fuse the alternator to battery positive wire. Some don't. Is it necessary?

Leave your factory wire in place and just add to it. As far as fusing the alt to bat. +, its a good and safe thing to do but not 100% nessessary. Here's a good tutorial.

I'm planning on doing the big 3 pretty soon. My car has a side terminal battery which makes the job much more difficult, however since I ordered an Optima battery with Top & Side terminals, it will make the job a breeze and I have the option of leaving the factory wires in place or removing them completely and just running new ones. Not sure how I am going to do it yet, I have to get in there and look more closely how its set up in there.

Fair enough. What's your personal opinion about fusing the wire? That's kinda what I'm looking for, some personal experiences and ideas.

Mine isnt fused. A lot of guys dont fuse it but A fuse and holder can be had for less $20 so its a smart idea to just fuse it. Always better safe than sorry. I just made sure my wire is out of the way of anything that could possibly penetrate or slice the wire in any way. zip ties are your friend. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
