designed to sound excellent in small sealed or ported boxes. sealed from 1.75 to 2.25ft^2

ported SQ alignment 2.75 tuned to 32 35in ^2 of port area

port killer daily driver that sounds good 3 tuned to 35 with 35 in^2

800rms conservatively rated.. new recones dual 4 ohm. designed to compete with the w6 and it easily does.

dual 1" thick 7.5" slugs, beast of an sq woofer..

Wow, very descriptive....except for visually and what motor they are based on.
ill try and upload some pics just for shits, i love seeing what peeps come up with.. i have a PS3 so i can't post pics but I will get some pics.. the woofer weights right at 38 pounds.. a very snount woofer, reason being is the high mms.. in order to get decent output and efficiency from such a woofer you need alot of motor strength,, in all honesty i can say as long as you cross it 70 down and have a strong midrange it sounds better than the w3 and every bit as good as the w6 in trasnpanency with MORE output.. i just chose to go with a lower inductance higher FS design..

problem is the motors gap is too tight to use the coil i want to implment so i want to give them a good home..

edit i have some pics of the motors raw wit just the basket, so you can get an idea of the build.. its made to be linear as possible in every aspect.. its simlar in dimentions only to the atomic ele..

i forgot ot add, the cone and surround are that of the APX.. extremely strong cone and it has about 70mm of mechanical throw... using the method of coil height-topplate height/2*15% xmax is 21.85... i mentioned this because its accurate in respect to these type od motors and its what 90% of the other companys spec it as...

once the woofers are finilazed(not this specific woofer) im sending it to red rock to get hte white papera so i cna show bl/cms/inductance curves along with extremely acurate t/s parameters...

do well in 4th order?
honestly i couldn't tell you.. i don't have much experence with 4th order, but id imagine it would seeing as it sounds excellent sealed and ported.. i designed the woofer for SQ, just so happpens it handles a hell of alot more than 800 RMS...

model it up and see if you like it.. i can use a stiffer spider, and i can get it in dual 2 as well.. not sure but i might beable to use a alum coil if you want something more on hte ported side.. lower MMS, it will be naturally more efficent and mechanical dampning will be higher...

i had 4 alpha 12s and 4 alpha 15s.. i liked them, but they where limited on throw.. this woofer has alot more throw and does alot better sealed and tuned low ported.. the v1 alpha is basically the atomic ele... i heard/used alot of sja products.. like i said, this woofer sound alot better..
