2 Party Sale?!

Over the weekend my friends and I ran up to the Speedway on the corner and my friend ran in to get a cigerrello, well he didn't have his ID on him (he's 19) so he was sent back out.

So I went in there to get it for him since I had my ID, and as soon as I walk to the counter and say, "Can I get a single cigerrello?" I am answered with, "No it's a 2 party sale, can't do it. Have a nice day," except in about the most smart-*** way possible.

I was unaware of this law, I understand what it is trying to prevent but I still think it's bullshit. I wouldn't have been so pissed but the guy was a prick about it. I don't think he enjoyed me bangin Hypnotize by Jeezy right outside his doors for the next 2 minutes tho.

And I very rarely listen to my music loud when stopped (at lights, stop signs, stores, etc) but whenever I get pissed at people it's my way of unleashing my road rage on them.

Anyone have this happen to them?

i got the same thing........friend went in to buy ME some smokes and got denied and so then i go in and he says no its a 2nd party sale......and i was like yea but he was buying them for me and im 20 and he was like nope. i was annoyed

it's technically the law, but rarely inforced.

Yeah I mean when I thought about it the law makes sense, but I've just never seen it enforced. And I was shocked this place enforced it, lol, my dad's house (where I was) isn't in the ghetto but its definitely not a good part of town, its mostly overran by mexicans. This guy took his job way too seriously, that's what I should have told him.

ya ive had that happen to me before i was 18. i would be pissed tho if it was by chance i asked for the same thing some kid asked for and the counter guy told me no.

yes its a law and u can get introuble for buying for other people.. and it protects the store sales people

Look at it from his angle. He's there, pushin min wage, and you all come in for the cig. He's gotta think, what if this is a setup? He sells to you, they get the fine, and he gets canned. For what? He ain't gonna potentially ruin his situation, just so you can get a smoke. He coulda been cool about it sure, but whats in it for him to do so?

The shop owners are just trying to keep within the laws. they get fined if they get caught and cops do send in testers sometimes. Even then some shops dont care and will sell to a 12 year old

Go to the next store down the road? This happened to me when I was 19, a buddie of mine went in to get a blunt the lady told him no id no blunt.

So he comes out tells me and I go in to get it and she tells me basically the same thing this guy told you.

He gets all pissed off runs in the store and totally trashes the store, kicking little debbies stand over and just being a moron. I kind of wish I left him there but we finally cooled down and be left and thankfully did not get arrested (cops did show up but we were gone)

I was at the store the other day getting pickin up a few things. This kid outside the store maybe 16 yrs old comes to me and asks to buy him a blunt. I tell him no and go on about my busniess. Well on my way out the po-po's come rollin up with lights and sirens and go directly to the 2 little kids... Sucked to be them.
