so i scooped an mtx te604 off of ebay and when i hooked it up the rear two channels, which also are the channels you would use if the amp is used in mono mode, the amp proceeded to make a humming noise and no sound was reproduced.

when i hooked the amp up to the front channels, the music played fine.

1) is the amp blown?

2) is it going to be worth getting fixed? (price vs value of the amp)

Price vs. value of fixing it is up to you.

You can check the RCA connections and possibly even try the high level inputs. If neither work, then it is probably broken. It might not be blown, but broken nonetheless. Humming usually isn't very good.

You can always use it as a 2 channel, but I doubt that is why you bought it.

My brother is a big MTX guy and his have had issues with the RCA stalks coming apart from the board. His were cheap fixes.
