No experience with the AQs but I can say the Obsidians will get loud and sound great doing it... I would say its worth the upgrade if you're looking for more sq and also still be plenty loud. As the others have said, the proper enclosure will make a huge difference. I'm willing to bet yo won't be disappointed with 2 OA 15s in the proper enclosure on 600 watts a piece.
