2 mono amps or 1 big mono amp

i currently have an alpine mrp-m500. it says it does 500rms at 2 ohms but it actually does 620rms at 2 ohms, my friend is an electrical engineer and he figured out the real power for me. anyways i have 2 12" alpine type-r runnin off it. they are 500rms each. so heres the question

should i buy another alpine mrp-m500 amp for $110 or try to sell my amp and buy an alpine mrp-m1000

i work at bestbuy so i get a discount. the m500 is $110 for me and the m1000 is $280.

which will be better and why.

i say sell what you have and buy one big one. Saves space and just much easier to work with
