So, i have a box design and i just want to make sure itd be big enough to be ported, or at this size just do a ported box?

its EXTERNAL dimensions are 38w X 14h X 21 depth,

using 5/8 thick wood that means internal volume would be 36 3/4 x 12 3/4 x 19 3/4

that is 5.3 cubes.. now, if i take a port, (slot design) i think my specs were 2 inches wide, 12 3/4 tall, and 8 6/10 deep to make it tuned to 36 hz, (id have to double check,

with that into consideration this box turns into roughly a 4.9 cubic foot box.. that is gross internal volume not net..

at that rate (4.9/2^3 feet) is that enough per sub at 36 hz? or would it sound better and be louder at a 5.3^3 foot sealed box?

wait 4-6 inches wide? Thatll cut down in my internal volume by an INCREDIBLE amount, to the point of having 2 cubes a sub IF im lucky, and its 5/8s..

I had an alpine type r 15 in a 4.25 cubic foot box that i built pushing 750 rms quite a bit and it never flexed once.. that was with NO internal bracing.. would it be neccisary at 1000rms for these guys?

well im talking 1000rms+ to the both of them, if i make the port 4 inches wide how deep will i have to make it to tune to 37 hz? (take note its also 12 3/4 tall) also, will that significant reduction in internal voume effect the spl of the box? or at this size ported should i just make it a sealed box?

DO yourself a favor and pay this guy ^^^^ 10 bucks to design a box for you. It will be well worth it.
I second that. Makes one hell of a design. Putting it to the test this weekend //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Tell me if this box makes more sense please, its a LOT bigger for the two kickers..

Its 46.25 wide, 18.25 deep, and 17.25 tall, with a 6inch wide 16 inch tall port, comes to a net volume of roughly 6.0405 cubic feet, (net without the subs)

how should that port be tuned? and is that box big enough?
