2 Kicker 06cvx 12 4ohm, what amp and questions?

So I have two Kicker comp vx 12's at 4ohms and they have dual voice coils.

Well I have been doing alot of research on amps for these subs I am some what of a beginner in installing stuff my self, but I know a little bit about car stereos. Each sub has an rms of 750watts and peak at 1500watts so since I have two subs I would need an amp that would have a rms of 1500watts? so basically the amp would be a 3000watt peak amp?

Also I have been reading that the the lower the Ohm the more likely the amp will heat up and power down. But I have also been reading that the lower the Ohm the more bass and wattage you are going to get out of the subs an amp. So I am not sure if this is true or not.

I am not sure which way I should connect these subs either but i suppose if i get the answer about the Ohms I will know. Which setup do you think would be optimal for these subs? 1ohm or 2ohm? Also which amp should I get? I have been looking into Hifonics but I've never heard of them before. I read that they were made from a company called Maxxsound I believe that pushes alot of brands I've never heard of.

A lot of questions I have here but I would really appreciate it if someone would set my mind straight. Thank you very much.

You can either wire your subs at 1ohm or 4ohms, so you should be looking at amps that are 1ohm stable, unless you want to buy something that puts out 1500 watts at 4ohm so you can upgrade later and not have to buy a better amp but it will be more expensive.

As for hifonics i dont really have a say in there products because i havent really used em

thanks for the info wood. I think I would go with the 1Ohm. Do you have any preference yourself or know of any good amps that would supply enough power for these two subs?

My highest I am looking to spend on an amp is 500.

Here is some more info on what I have going on here.

==========================================================

The specs for a single sub

Resonance Frequency [fs], = Hz 26.4

Power Handling Watts, Peak (RMS) = 1500 (750)

Total Q-factor [Qts] = .360

Equivalent Volume [Vas], Ft3 (L) = 2.3 (65.4)

==========================================================

I would have the both of the subs in a sealed encloser box, but I might down the road have a friend of mine make me a vented spl box. Here is some more random info.

The manual says

SealedCompact (Minimum Enclousre Volume) = 1.0ft3 (28.3L) Power handling = 750W RMS

Sealed SQ (Maximum Encloser Volume) = 4.6ft3 (130L) Power Handling = 300W RMS.

VentedCompact (Minimum Encloser Volume) = 1.75ft3 (49.6L) + port displacement 2.5 x 12.5" (6.4x31.8cm) poer, 20" (50.8cm) long Power Handling = 300W RMS

Vent SPL/Deep Bass (Maximum Encloser Volume) = 2.25ft3 (63.7L) + port displacement 3 x 12.5" (7.6x31.8cm) port, 20.5 (52.1cm) long Power handling = 700W RMS

I found a refurbished kx1200.1 for a little over 300, but I have never really been into buying refurbished items. The company did say that'd give me a 90 day warranty and that it was refurbished by KICKER B Company. But the Hifonics 1606D is a little under 300 with a 1 year warranty and it has supposedly more wattage. I dont want to push my subs to the limit thought i just want to be able to feel my music and have it sound good. I've heard alot of people saying that the KX1200.1 runs higher than what it says and I've heard mixed things on the hifonics. Also someone else has suggested this company I've never heard of it but I don't know if any of you guys have heard of them

I've heard that the hifonics maybe a bit overrated,not sure as I dont own 1.As far as the kx1200.1 i have 1 with certificate that puts out almost 1500 that I will be running the same subs with.

Hey realist was that kx1200.1 refurbished? That is enough wattage to those subs right? I want it to sound deep and clean but i dont want to rock them out to where they might pop easier. Ive never really been big on buying factory refurbished items but to go with a better company and knowing that it would be coming from an authorized kicker company dealer i would feel a little more comfortable.

I would go with the Hifonics 1606 BXID wired down to 1 ohm or a Hifonics BXi 2006D those would be great i have the CVX 15's 2 ohm 1000rms. i was being cheap and got the 1606 and they pouned like crazy but im gona up grade to the Hifonics BXi 2006D http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=16370 . or you could go with the Kicker 06ZX1500.1 http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=17085 those 3 are what i think u are looking forand theay are all less then 500 bucks
