Hey guys, help me out! lol.. I wanna throw 2 JL 10w3v3 subs in a foxacoustics dual 10" underseat box.. I've heard good things about these subs, and they seem to be in my price range. What do yall think?

Here's the ebay link to the box. http://cgi.ebay.com/2004-2008-FORD-F150-SPEAKER-SUB-BOX-EXT-CAB-SUPERCREW_W0QQitemZ290341004969QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item4399ac26a9&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

I really don't know the exact power handlings of the 10w3v3 subs, but Crutchfield says they each run at 100-500w rms, and 1000w peak.. what should I run them at?

I don't wanna overkill them.. so what would be a good mono amp to hook up? I've been looking into the new Hifonics amps.. and I think I'd like to take a chance with them.. maybe the Hifonics BXI 1210D for ~ $200? It claims 1 x 900 W @ 2 Ohms.. would this be too much, or just right?

they can only take 300rms each anything after that is distortion, Arc Audio K series 500.1 is perfect 600rms at 1 or 2ohms.
that's a little outta what I'm looking to buy.. kinda defeats the purpose of a budget build.. I'm pretty sure there a decent 600w mono out there for much less than the arc audio stuff..

Personally i have those exact subs and love them, i have 2 of them in .75 ft3 sealed boxes. If you have to buy the subs, i think you could find some others that will sound very nice for half the cost, but personally i really like them. Many talk up the dayton subs, and the phoenix gold rsd subs. I have had a lot of JL subs and have always liked them. My first was a w312 in a JL power wedge, this was when i was younger and i pushed it many times until i could hear it barking. Never gave up and i still have it. I have the two tens that im much more sensible with but found very easy to integrate and always like the way they sounded. I have one w3V210 in my pickup now and love it. All my JLs were pushed by crossfire CFA 1000Ds, the two tens at one ohm, the one 12 was at 2 ohms. My 10 in my truck is ran off a little crossfire TEK50x2 bridged at 4 ohms. It sounds good but it could use some more power. Personally i think you would be better off buying an amp that is larger than you need just for the headroom and just be smart about how hard you push them. Just becuase you have 8000W available to use, dont mean you have to use it. Good luck and keep us posted on how you truck sounds, whatever you decide to do.

Just another note, there are some rockford T5002 amps on ebay for about 200. They have subsonic filters, they generally put out about 1000W, 2 ohm stable bridged, cover rattles, and is a bit more innefficient than mono class D amps.

Whatever the max RMS rating is for any of the W3 series, whether it be the a 10 ,12 or the 13, don't exceed it by anything more than 100 RMS. Ive had a few W3's in the day so you can take my word on it.

i had a rf p1000 on my 2 12 w3s. they can take it. when i had my first one, i had a hifonics brutus 1206 d running to it. and before that a kicker 750.1 jls are nice, but like the post a few up, for the price, theres better at half the cost. just look around

Well, I'm sure I could probably find better and save about $100 or so.. but these JL seem to fit my underseat box pretty well and I've heard they arent half bad for a budget SQ setup.. the prefab box was literally built for 10w3s, and looks sleek under the seat

to be honest..I have a stock 8", and that almost bangs enough for me.. I figure I can't go wrong with 2 10"s..

Question: I've seen quite a few people run the JL 500.1 to 2 10w3 subs.. and say they got a pretty good setup.. I'm not looking to grossly overpowering these subs.. I want everything to last.. and I'm assuming the JL 500.1 might be a little underated like most in the price range, and might hit close 600w rms I'm looking for.. I was considering the Kicker 750.. but I've heard that does closer to 900w.. So I dunno.. I'm not planning on upgrading to anything more after this, so I don't need to future proof anything

Anyone wanna throw up some amp recommendations?

My old set up I was running a pair of the JL 10w3v2 with a JL 500/1 in a small under strut tower box for my 350z and it did the job. Good SQ and very tight bass. I think the 10s and a 500/1 is a perfect match for what your looking for.
