2 hdc3 18s vs 4 sa-15s on a memphiis 4k?

talking loudness on music to the ear... i only compete once or twice a year so i'm not all that concerned with numbers, and 4k is all the power i plan to run, so the hdc3s being able to take more power than they do now isnt a factor.

4 SA-15's would tromp on 2 HDC318's on 4k. The SA's have more cone area.

i know theres more cone area, but the hdc3s are no joke... if its just no question, definitely going to be louder with the 15s, i'll go that route. hell of a deal going on with that pre-order.

thats hard to say.. how big of box will you use for the 4 15s. you can make that box huge for the 2 18s and i doubt the 4 15s will keep up

These are both quality woofers so I would go with the most cone area - 4 15's.

recommended is i believe 3 cubes per, ported, so i was planning on 11-12 cubes. might go as low as 10 cubes total since i'm going to be throwing so much power at 2.5 inch coils. the box for my 18s is about 13 cubes gross IIRC, but i wouldnt want to go bigger, its already a few inches over my back seat.
