2 CVRs vs. 1 CVX

CVX is a better all around built subwoofer than the CRV, hence the price of them. If you want to slap hard, then do another 750.1 and 2 more of the CRV's, and if not and what to still get fairly loud and sound good, get two of the CVX's off either another 750.1, or a good single 1500rms amp.
I had heard a shit ton of CVR setups in the day, because they are cheap and I had 1 12" CVX off a 750.1 Autotek amp and the CVX defintley sounds better IMO and gets louder if you compare one sub to one CVR.

So kinda up to you with your budget in mind, space and what not. If it was me, I would do 2 CVX's if I was to stay with Kicker and another 750.1 or a single Kicker amp over 1500rms.
Do 2 CVRs hooked up to a ZX750.1 sound equivalent to 1 CVX? Cause if so, I probably won't upgrade for a while..

2 of those would be louder because of the cone area I imagine, but SQ IMO on the CVR's, fails in comparison to the CVX. Don't get me wrong, they don't sound terrible, just not as good IMO. So if you are okay with how they sound, then rock on with what you got now.

What kind of car are these in and is the box ported? Because the CVR's like to be ported.

1996 Toyota Camry in a ported prefab box. I plan on building a box for them soon.

for some reason, the play the deep bass notes pretty good but when it comes to higher notes and mid notes they don't play as good. I used to have 2 cheap pioneer subs in a ported box in a ford explorer and I was able to hear a good balance of the bass notes..low to high..

it's the box. best way to improve any sub system, is to get a good box. there's no better way.

edit: and how high of notes are you playing through the subs? crossover setting?

the box that my old 2 pioneer 12s were in a prefab box and i was able to hear a good balance of bass. the cross over on my headunit is set to 80 hz

if the picture in your sig is the box in question, i can tell you that you're short on port area, and the box isn't big enough. kickers aren't the most efficient sub around.

so if I changed the box, would I be able to hear a better balance of bass. and where can I find out good dimensions for a box design for my 2 CVRs?

Cheapest way to find out why you are not happy, would be the box.

Either try to build one yourself, or have one of the members off here build you one. Most won't run you more than 150. Try to find someone closer to where you live. That is what I did. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Its always in the install mang and the box is a huge part of it.

Prefab might be fine for awhile, but sounds to me like you are ready for an upgrade!
