ok i know this might be a dumb question but im gonna be ordering a new sub in the next week or so, and the only extra amp i have till i can afford another one, is a two channel pos sony amp thats been sitting in my closet

anyway the sub will be dual 4's, so wired to 2 or 8 ohms.. theamp isnt stable at 2 ohms bridged and i dont wanan wire it at 8, cause then it will get like no power (its sony as it is).. so anyway the only option i can think of, since each channel is stable at 4 not bridged.. what if i hooked up the 2 channles to the dual voice coils and set teh gains as close as possible for the time being, or is this a very bad idea?

Wiring it in stereo with each voice coil is just like bridging it at 8 ohms. Bridge it at 8 ohms to keep the signal the same on each coil (in case you listen to something with stereo bass which is unlikely).
