2 Blown Alpine Type R's. Need Advice on Buying New Subs.

Hey man it's pointless to buy the p3 subs if you want Rockford Fosgate stuff. Get the punch power subs. They are much more stronger and reliable, but i still get some polk audio signature reference subs to try them out. they look tight.

I Recently blew my 2 12" alpine Type Rs:verymad:
They were the 4ohm subs and i had them wired at 2 ohms up to a Kicker ZX850.2 amp (425 watts rms x2 @2 ohms stable).

Somehow the Frequency and Bass Boost got turned up all the way and i didnt take note, blowing the subs. I think i may have hit the settings on the amp when moving the subs around.

Anyway, I was considering getting a different pair of subs such as 2 of the rockford p3s or maybe 2 of the kicker cvx. Or should i stick with the type rs?

I would like the SQ of the alpine and a hard hit, any other subs to do the trick other than the ones i named? Or which would you suggest?

i blew mine last weekend when i was bassracing the 149.9 class. but i had a bxi2607d @ 1/2 ohms on each of them. just get a new set and be smarter with your gains.

type r's aren't the best...yeah i rather go with the some type x.

I think for SPL, type r is really better than type x...
