2 Amps, 2 Subs and not 2percent sure...

My Car was broken into a few months back and my Class D 1ohm stable mono amp was stolen. I am finally getting around to putting a stereo back in and am trying to figure out if my two amps I was using for my Components will work for my subs and the best way to wire them up.

Here is my setup:

Head Unit: Kenwood DNX 5210

Mids: 2 x "Infinity Reference 6030CS components"

Subs: 2 x "Alpine Type Rs 4 ohm Duel voice coil" "Alpine SWR-1242D"

in sealed box of hatchback

Amps: 2 x "1/2-Channel Hifonics Zeus ZXi 4006 Amplifiers"

2x100 @ 4 ohms

2x200 @ 2 ohms

1x400 @ 4 ohms

questions:

1) Can I power my two Alpine SWR-1242D subs with these two Hifonics amps?

2) If the amps can be wired to subs will it be sufficient power to make them bump?

3) What would be the best way to wire them?

4) In Layman terms, How would I wire the amps to the subs "diagrams would help with explanation?".

5) If amps are insufficient to power these subs what would be some budget amps that would do the job?

Thank you very much in advance for your help. I am a bit low on cash at the moment and my car audio budget was already stolen out of my car. Have been out of the Car Audio seen for awhile so am a bit behind on the times and have forgotten much about bridging, ohms/resistance and all the important install lingo.

ok here are all the options you have: 8 ohm per woofer or 2 ohm per woofer. 1 ohm per pair or 4 ohm per pair.

one amp per sub and you will only get 200w/ channel. i would just run them on one amp @ 2 ohm per channel by wiring the coils parallel per driver then stereo on the amp in 2 channel mode. Or, 4 ohm mono bridged on the amplifier in 1channel mode.

You could wire the subs together to 4 ohm and just use one amp and get 400rms

that would be the same power you would get using an amp per sub with each subs wired to 2 ohm......

400rms for the pair might work but wouldn't push the R's much, if you could get a new amp, there are many amps that can be had for cheap- PA 3000db's are pretty strong....

Thanks for the quick response guys!

So are these diagrams what you have in mind?

Are there any reliable cheaper options for amps under $225.00 I looked at Kenwood KAC-9104D 1800-Watt Max Power 1 ohm Capability Class D Mono Power Amplifier with Variable LPF but from what I read it sounds like it won't work for long.

If you keep your current amps then the second image is the only legitimate option. Your best bet is to find a good Class D mono amp that is 1 ohm stable. The Kenwood you posted would only put 50 more watts rms extra to each sub which is pretty much a waste of time and money. Find a Class D mono amp that is around 1200-1500 watts rms at 1 ohm. Then wire both VC's on each sub in parallel and then wire each sub to each other in parallel for a final 1 ohm load.

There are tons of amps under $225.00 to choose from. I may have a Hifonics 1606D that I would sell you for $125 + shipping but I need to test it first as it has been sitting for a few months.
