Hey everyone, 1st time here be gentle! I have a 04 F-150 Super Crew and looking at putting some bass. Not looking to blew the windows out, just sound good. I have replaced all stock speakers with Infinity Kappas, and thinking of the Kicker 400.1 amp and either 2- 8''RF He2s or 1- 10'' RF He2. Will be pushing 400 watts at 2 ohms. Not much room under rear seat. The cost for this will be around $250 for both sub and amp new on E-bay. Any other suggestions for the $$$? What do you think. 2-8s or 1-10? Thanks

Come on, no suggestions //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif !!!!

I personally would take the single 10, and if you can fit it, a single 12. I had a single Alpine Type R 12 for about a year and loved it soo much that I went out and bought 2 new ones for my new setup. I haven't heard too many dual 8" setups so maybe I am just misinformed. Although, I did say that I woudl take the 10, so it is still entirely upto you as to what you decide.

Good Luck

i would take the 8's because i have heard of two 8's and they are not bad at all

Headunit - Sony MEX-5Di

Speakers - MB Quart QM218.61Q 6.5 Q Series COMPONENT

Amp-Speakers- Alpine MRV-F540

Amp-Sub- Rockford Fosgate 1500bd

EQ- Pioneer DEQ-7600

I just have enough room for 1-10. And thats having to put a grill on it to keep it from hitting the seat bottom when pumping sound.

Would the 1-10 give me deeper bass than the 2-8s? Or would they both put out deep bass but I could get more of it out of the 2-8s?

Any other suggestions or comments on this? What does RE stand for, and where can I get info and prices on them?

RE = Resonant Enginnering

I myself had 2 RE8's...now I have 4 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I love them and I dare anyone to put a single 10 with 200watts against my 2 8s. Check out my gallery, and my cardomain page (WWW). You dont need a big box, 1.0cube tuned from 28-32Hz and its all good for two //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

O.K., I talked to the guys at RE to see what they would do. They say 2 RE 8's ported pushed by 400 watts to both would sound great. My question is this. Even with the He2s handling more watts than the RE8s, do you think the RE8s are better subs than the He2s. Giving both subs are wired the same and both sub brands having the same ohms?

Woodmister, I know your answer. Your set up looks and I sure sounds great. Just looking for more feed back with this. Looking to get the best sound for my $$$.

Thanks

RE subs are better quality that Rockford. Rockford used to be one of the toughest and well built drivers out there, but lately they are going down hill. Take the REs, smaller box, better quality, and they look kinda funky all small and little and stuff! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/toast.gif.bc0657bf54b9ee653b6438524461341e.gif
