Hi I was wondering if 2 JL 8" would sound better than a single 12", I SQ so it doesn´t matter if the 12" can make my ears bleed, I dont want to take too much sapce from my trunk, so I would prefer using the 8", do I get more sub area? (stupid question) but I'm new at this, I mean 2 8" make more sub area than a 15"?

and also what would I have to do to my 6x9" kenwoods, to make em sound clear without interfering with the subs?

The 6x9" and the 8" are running on separate amps, what RMS power would you recommend for the amps?

Thanks

Two 8's=100.48 sq. in. of cone area

One 12=113.04 sq. in.

So to answer your question a single 12 has more cone area...BUT...will it be more efficient? Probably not...a larger moving mass requires more power to move it...

BUT a single 12 will probably play lower....

There's trade-offs to everything

If you get the 2 8s put them in a ported box. They won't be very efficient in a sealed box and they will start to roll off at like 80-90 hz depending on the size of the box. In a ported box they play much lower like down to 30-40 hz.

You would need about four 8s to equall the output of one 15.
