lol try doing a nissan vq engine, my alt is under the engine. you have to take the front pass tire off, inner fender well out, to get to it

Thats where it is in the caddy too iirc. My old silverado was pretty easy everything is basically right there

Haha a 2004 Audi a4. The alt is under the engine as well.

97s and 98s are a little different but yes my factory battery location is under the back seat. That wasn't the bad part though. The alternator is under the engine and not accessible from below. Had to remove headlights, air filter, AC condensor, and radiator. Did this twice. Big 3 and later on HO Alt.

Just upgraded the alternator wire. After all of the big three completed I went from 13.33 volts to a solid 14.36-8. Hopefully I can get up to 14.7 when I get a d3100....

Was it measured after the alt was nice n hot or did you measure it in the first couple minutes after startup?

All measurements were taken roughly 45 minutes after car has been off. So I'm sure it will drop a little bit but still, drastic inprovement

no way you gained an entire volt from just upgrading your alt wire.. is your alt bad or something. Not saying your lying, but i hardly noticed any increase in idle voltage just a little less voltage drop while wanging

Volt meters dont lie lol. I definately gained an entire volt. A stock 150 amp alt running of stock 8 gauge wires. I'm not surprised to see a huge increase
