2 18 treo ssx

hi i am wandering if 2 18 treo tuned to 38 hz would be good for a daily driver.

i will be running 2000 watts to each of them.in a 2003 tahoe.will it be better to face subs up or back with port firing back.thanks

Depends on the box (if built properly), on the power (if adequate power is supplied), and if you have the electrical to supply them amps.

Seems most SUV's have the sub's facing up w/ port facing up or back. I don't think ur electrical will handle it without some upgrades, but if it can it should be a very loud setup.

Agreed install dependent. If your going with (2) 18's port them for sure. I think it will get loud but you have to consider 2 things.

a. electrical upgrade

b. dynamat

I hear loud setups in suvs all the time, but they all sound like complete crap, unless you have the vehicle dynamated.

not necessarily, i have heard many suv's without d-mat and they sounded great. worry about your electrical first

i have put fatmat through my tahoe all i like is th roof.as far as electrical i have and irragi 220 amp alt and optima battery up front yellowtop.and 2 kinetik 2000 in the rear.

well your electrical is pretty good. did ya do the big 3 upgrade yet? if not you might wanna do that.

220a alt x 14 volts = 3080 watts of total power, that can be sustained when everything is maxed out. so your gonna be running around 1k more than that when everything is maxed. however with the batteries in the rear i think youll be alright.

i once had 2 15's ported to roughly 37hz but with 2 18's i would go lower. mine hit very nice at 37hz, but they lacked low end which was my fault for tuning so high. however, they will be loud almost no matter what you do, so might as well take advantage of the 18's ability to get low and tune to like 30-32hz.
